| Qigong (also known as Chi Gong or Qi Gong) is a Chinese system of gentle exercises, breathing and meditation that increases our bodys supply of healing energy. Chi or Qi, enhancing overall vitality, as well as developing a clear and peaceful state of mind. Qigong combines movement, meditation, and breath regulation to enhance the flow of vital energy in the body. Because Qigong can be used by the healthy as well as the severely ill, it is one of the most broadly applicable systems of self-care in the world. A regular practice of Qigong: Improves strength and flexibility, reversed damage caused by prior injuries and disease. Initiates the relaxation response. Alters the neurochemstry profile, modearting pain, depression, and addictive cravings. Enhances the efficiency of the immune system. Improves resistance to disease and infecton. Increases the efficiency of cell metabolism and tissue regeneration. Coordinates right/left brain hemisphere dominance, promoting deeper sleep, reduced anxiety, and mental clarity. Induces alpha and, in some cases, theta brain waves which reduce heart rate and blood pressure, facilitating relaxation, mental focus, and even paranormal skills.
